Eden Hoodie Size Guide: Which Height Size to Pick
Pick the Eden band that contains your height. Between two? The longer one if you will mostly sit in it, the shorter one if you will walk around in it. Unsure for a gift? One size removes the guess.

Free the Sheep's Eden Hoodie is a floor-length hooded cape, and because length is the whole point, they sell it by height rather than by S, M and L. That is a good system when you know the wearer's height and a nuisance when you are between two bands or buying a gift. We do not make the Eden; we make a garment of the same shape, so we have had to think about this a lot. This guide uses only what Free the Sheep publishes.
The sizes, from their product page
| Their size | Who it is for |
|---|---|
| 5'2" or Shorter | Adults up to 5'2" |
| 5'3" to 5'6" | Adults 5'3" to 5'6" |
| 5'7" to 6'1" | Adults 5'7" to 6'1" |
| 6'2" to 6'5" | Adults 6'2" to 6'5" |
| 6'6" or Taller | Adults 6'6" and over |
| Mini and Kids | Children's sizes; see their page for ages |
Width is not part of the choice. Free the Sheep describes the Eden's open design as fitting sizes from XS up to 6XL, so the height band is the only decision. It is $199.99 on their US site as of October 2026, in 18 colours.
If you are between two sizes
Think about how you will use it:
- Mostly sitting (sofa, desk, gaming): the longer band. Extra length folds around your feet when you sit, which is the warmest part of the garment.
- Walking around in it a lot (kitchen, stairs, answering the door): the shorter band. A hem that pools on the floor is something you tread on.
- Near the top of the 5'7" to 6'1" band: that band spans six inches, so a 6'1" wearer gets less length below the ankle than a 5'7" wearer does in the same size. If you want it on the floor, size up.
To estimate where any hem lands without trying it on: your shoulder sits at about 82% of your height. Subtract the garment's shoulder-to-hem length from that. If their product page does not show a length for your band, ask them for it before you order.
Buying an Eden as a gift
Height sizing means you need the person's height, and most people know it to within an inch or two. If you are guessing, guess the longer band for someone who will mostly sit in it, and check the exchange policy before you buy. Gift returns on a heavy, floor-length garment are where height sizing costs you.
If you would rather not pick a size at all
Enfold is ours: the same kind of garment, a hooded cape pulled on over the head with no opening down the front, open at the sides, faux fur inside. It comes in one adult size, 56 inches (142 cm) from shoulder to hem, worn from about 5'0" to 6'3". It reaches the ankle around six foot and pools on the floor on shorter people, which most like when they sit. It is under half the Eden's price, with free shipping and free returns.
Where the Eden is the better choice: if you are over about 6'3", its 6'2" to 6'5" and 6'6"+ sizes will reach lower on you than ours, and if you want a pocket, the Eden Pocket Hoodie has one and Enfold does not. Our height-by-height table shows where Enfold's hem lands on you, and the full comparison is in Eden Hoodie alternative. Wondering about the price? Read is the Eden Hoodie worth it.
Common questions
What size Eden Hoodie should I get?
The band that contains your height: 5'2" or shorter, 5'3" to 5'6", 5'7" to 6'1", 6'2" to 6'5", or 6'6" or taller. Between two, pick the longer one if you will mostly sit in it and the shorter one if you will walk around in it.
Is the Eden Hoodie one size fits all?
For width, Free the Sheep says the open design fits XS to 6XL. For length, no: you choose a height band.
Does the Eden Hoodie run long?
Height sizing means the same garment sits lower on the shortest person in a band than on the tallest. If you are at the bottom of a band, expect more fabric on the floor; that is how height sizing works, not a fault.
Is there a one-size alternative to the Eden Hoodie?
Yes. Enfold is one adult size, 56 inches from shoulder to hem, for roughly 5'0" to 6'3", at under half the Eden's price.
