Is the Eden Hoodie Worth $200? What You Get, and What Costs Less
What $199.99 buys you in the Eden Hoodie, and when paying less makes more sense.

Last updated: 20 October 2026.
The Eden Hoodie from Free the Sheep costs $199.99 USD. It is a floor-length, hooded, faux-fur-lined cape you pull on over your head, and it is heavily advertised, so a lot of people meet it in their feed before they meet the category. Whether it is worth the money depends on two things: how tall you are, and how much you care about choosing a size.
What the price buys you
- Height sizing. Five adult sizes chosen by height, from 5'2" or shorter to 6'6" or taller, plus Mini and Kids. This is the genuine difference between the Eden and most of the category, and the main thing the price pays for.
- Colour range. Eighteen colours listed on the product page, twice as many as Enfold.
- The shape. Hood, open sides, faux fur inside, long enough to reach the ankle at the right size. The shape itself is not unique to them. Several brands make it.
Their page also says the Eden helps reduce stress and anxiety. We do not make claims like that for any garment, including our own. A warm, heavy-feeling cape is pleasant to wear in the evening. That is a comfort, not a treatment.
When it is worth it
If you are over 6'3". Their tall sizes reach the ankle on you, and most one-size capes, ours included, stop at the lower shin. If full length matters and you are tall, the sizing is worth paying for.
If you are buying for a child. They make Kids and Mini sizes.
When it is not
If you are between about 5'0" and 6'3". A well-cut one-size cape lands at or near the ankle across that range, so most of what height sizing buys you is already covered. Enfold is 56 inches from shoulder to hem, and our height guide shows where it lands at each height.
If it is a gift. Height sizing means knowing someone's height. One size means you do not have to ask.
If you want two. At $199.99 each, a pair is about $400. Enfold is under half the price of one Eden, and a second one is discounted.

Common questions
Why is the Eden Hoodie so expensive?
Part of the price is the height sizing: making seven sizes in eighteen colours means carrying far more stock than a one-size garment. Part of it is advertising, which you see a lot of. The garment shape itself is made by several brands at lower prices.
Is the Eden Hoodie good for tall people?
Yes. Its 6'2"–6'5" and 6'6"+ sizes are its strongest point, and if you are over 6'3" we would point you to them over any one-size cape, including ours.
What is a cheaper alternative to the Eden Hoodie?
Enfold is a floor-length, hooded, open-sided cape lined in faux fur, at under half the Eden's price, in one adult size with free shipping and free returns. The side-by-side comparison is here.
